INESC TEC analyses player performance at the Women’s Euro 2017

A team of researchers from the Centre for Enterprise Systems Engineering (CESE) and the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support (LIAAD) of INESC TEC are using artificial intelligence tools to analyse the behaviour of the athletes participating in the Women’s Euro 2017, in the Netherlands. The purpose is to help teams improve their performances.

The State University “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” (UNESP) is the most recent member of the INESC Brazil Network, a cooperation for research, development and innovation managed by INESC P&D Brasil (IB, INESC R&D Brazil). This was confirmed at the agreement signing ceremony, at the Reitoria of UNESP, in São Paulo, which welcomed the University’s Vice-President Marilza Cunha Rudge, and the Director-President of INESC P&D Brasil, Vladimiro Miranda.

The North-American researcher is currently collaborating in the project “Bridging the gap between performers and the audience using networked smartphones”, whose result will be three music pieces to be presented at INESC TEC’s anniversary concert, on 26 October of this year.
