André Bianchi Figueiredo, born on 18 April 1971 in Porto, Portugal, holds a M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (IST/UTL) and a PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (FEUP/UP). Co-founder and CEO (2007-2010) of OMNITA S.A., a Portuguese company which develops autonomous systems for remote monitoring and observation. He also worked in the chemicals industry for 8 years developing automated manufacturing processes. He works as a researcher at INESC TEC since 2009 and he is focused on the improvement of the relative navigation capabilities of autonomous vehicles based on artificial vision. Actually, he is a researcher at Laboratory of Robotics and IoT for Smart Precision Agriculture and Forestry/ CRIIS Unit in INESC TEC.
