Work description

Annotate the rhythmic structure in terms of temporal onsets and metrical structure in a dataset of Maracatu recordings. Investigate techniques for the analysis and visualisation of the "micro-rhythmic" structure of Maracatu. Perform detailed evaluation of existing analysis techniques for rhythm analysis. Participate in the group meetings of the project.

Academic Qualifications

Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Informatics, Computer Science, Multimedia or similar

Minimum profile required

Fluency in English. Working knowledge of music theory (ability to read music notation). Proven experience using software for the analysis and annotation of music signals (e.g. Sonic Visualiser).
