Simulation dynamic behaviour of power system with large scale integration of renewable power sources


Work description

The electric power system is facing a transition towards the maximization of the use of renewable power sources to replace fossil fuel power plants. The renewable power plants are interfaced with the grid via power electronic converters leading to a power system with less inertia, becoming sensitive to stability problems. The research fellow will develop power system dynamic simulation studies following system disturbances with the aim to evaluate if the power converters comply with Grid Code requirements

Academic Qualifications

Master degree in Electrical Engineering

Minimum profile required

Advance knowledge about dynamic problems, modelling and simulation tools for the evaluation of the power system dynamic behaviour-Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Preference factors

Experience with power system dynamic problems Advanced knowledge in MatLab Simulink or other simulation tools like PSS/E and DigSilent
