Develop the mechanical solution for the modified BioSampler system for eDNA realtime water sampling and filtwering in the context of the RD eDNAuto contract with NIVA (Norway) and also to develop the next BioSampler system to be used in the FCT Connect2Oceans project. This work plan comprises the redesign and implementation of a mechanical and micro-hydraulics solution for the system to be used at surface (in the eDNAuto contex) and underwater. It also includes the test and validation activities and the support in the implementation in the field. As part of the work the development of all associated documentation and manuals is also a requirement.
Master in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum profile required
Minimum experience of 2 years of participation in research or development projects in underwater robotics.
Experience in the development and testing / integration of sampling and micro-hydraulic systems; Experience in the development and testing / integration of mechanical and sensory systems with AUV robots, Development of perception systems for underwater robotic platforms.
