Work description
- State of the art on quantum optimization algorithms (including quantum adaptive variational approaches) and applications; - Experimental assessment of the above identified algorithms on currently available quantum hardware; - Development and assessment of a prototype applying a cutting-edge quantum optimization algorithm to a real world problem (such as the ones identified above); - Final report write-up, including all the above results. This grant is associated to the work corresponding to the first year of a PhD programme, leading to the conclusion of a PhD pre-thesis document
Academic Qualifications
- completed MSc on Physics Engineering
Minimum profile required
- Successful completion in their Higher Education studies of course Units in Quantum Mechanics, Quantum Information and Quantum Computing;- domain of the Qiskit package over IBM Q.
Preference factors
- knowledge and experience in quantum computing; - knowledge and experience in Monte Carlo inspired methods; - mastery of the English language.
