Work description
The research plan involves the development of R&D activity in the area of power system protection and automation, modelling, simulation and power system analysis, aiming to contribute with new smart grid protection and automation strategies for distribution networks with large scale integration of renewable energy sources. The R&D activities will also focus on the development of a protection and network automation laboratorial test system, based in a real-time simulator. Moreover, the researcher should participate in activities of scientific supervision of researchers and development of new R&D projects. Intervention in the scientific and professional communities, as well as coordination and participation in scientific and technological dissemination initiatives.
Academic Qualifications
PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electronics and Industrial, Automation and Control Engineering or related scientific area
Minimum profile required
Doctorates with post-doctoral experience compatible with the category of junior researcher, with no requirement to demonstrate scientific independence. A minimum of 1 publication in Q1 international journals.
Preference factors
Proven experience in modelling, short-circuit analysis and protection coordination studies, with simulation software (DigSilent and Matlab Simulink). Participation in collaborative R&D projects. Knowledge in the implementation of IEC 61850 for power substations will be valorised. Science and technology management, including proposal and contract negotiation.
