Peer-to-Peer (P2P) market for excess heat and cold recovery


Work description

Current heating markets are monopolistic and centralised disregarding competition and trade of excess heat. Increasing energy efficiency is motivating the development of new business opportunities, like the P2P market. These approaches are able to promote on a local scale the competition in the supply and trade of excess heating. The research fellow will participate in the design and development P2P market approaches for the trade of excess heat recovery at industrial and non-industrial level.

Academic Qualifications

Master degree in Electrical Engineering or similar

Minimum profile required

Advance knowledge of the operation of electricity markets and power systemsFluent in English (spoken and written)Experience with optimal power flow tools

Preference factors

Experience in optimization problems related to electricity markets Experience with optimization techniques Experience in Python
