Ministry of Science of Angola visits INESC TEC

Domingos da Silva Neto, Secretary of State for Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Angola, visited INESC TEC on 19 March, on the launch of the roadmap of the Science Week between Portugal and Angola.

A delegation of 15 elements, which was mostly composed of members of the Ministry and representatives of Universities, Institutes and Research Centres, accompanied the Secretary of State.

The visit started with an overview presentation of INESC TEC by José Manuel Mendonça, Chairman of the Board, in which the institution was globally introduced, as well as its scientific innovation model and its activity in the several fields of science and technology and areas of application to which it is dedicated. Then, the delegation had the opportunity to get to know the Laboratory of Smart Grids and Electric Vehicles through a presentation by Luís Seca, member of INESC TEC's Board.

The Science Week between Portugal and Angola, which was held between 18 and 20 March, is one of the first initiatives to be promoted ever since the signature of a memorandum of understanding in this sector between the two countries in November.

This activity aims to reinforce the cooperation between Portugal and Angola, especially in the fields of higher education, funding and management of science and technology, while strengthening the sharing of knowledge resulting from the work developed in the two countries. It also intends to promote the implementation of joint research projects.
