Last2Ticket is the name of the latest success story of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), coordinated by INESC TEC's Centre for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship (CITE). This company, based at UPTEC (Porto), managed to enter the global markets of Europe and of USA and INESC TEC was present at the check-in.

The Web Summit of 2016 in Portugal was the meeting point between Last2Ticket and the largest information and advice network in Europe. The potential of its solution – a unique software for e-ticketing management and event promotion – was recognised early on, but a bigger step was missing: internationalisation.

In order to achieve this goal, the Enterprise Europe Network played a crucial role: "We helped Last2Ticket to review its business model with a view to scaling and reaching new markets. Besides this, we encouraged Last2Ticket to apply for programs such as "Ready2Go - Supporting SMEs Internationalisation" and "SME Instrument Phase 1 - EIC Accelerator Pilot", which provided tools for international growth and funding in order to innovate its solution," explains Cristina Barbosa, a researcher of INESC TEC (CITE) and member of the Network.

At the moment, Last2Ticket has a team comprised of eleven collaborators and sees its revenues growing 25% per year. The application is already used in more than eight countries, mainly on the European and Asian continents. "We believe that this is only the beginning of a long road", says Emília Simões, CEO of Las2Ticket, who recognises the importance of the collaboration of the Enterprise Europe Network that now wants to establish itself in more competitive markets, such as in the United States of America.

In order to do so, Last2Ticket can continue to rely on the Enterprise Europe Network in the provision of opportunities and advice on innovation and internationalisation, said Cristina Barbosa.

Enterprise Europe Network, which was co-funded by the EU Programme for the Competitiveness of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (COSME) and by the European Union's H2020 research and development programme, is the largest network of information and advice services to companies in Europe. It emerged as a support instrument for business development in the European area, providing cross-cutting services to support the activity of companies, business revitalisation, business cooperation and access to new markets.
