INESC TEC researcher nominated EurAI Fellow

The European Association for Artificial Intelligence (EurAI) nominated João Gama, researcher at INESC TEC’s Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support Laboratory (LIAAD), as EurAI Fellow.

20th July 2020

In order to promote the studying, research and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Europe, EurAI rewards a restricted set of researchers who stand out due to the quality and relevance of their work in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

“This award represents the European AI community’s appreciation of the relevance of the line of research followed after my PhD, in 2000”, said João Gama. “It is an honour, and I’d like to share it with my students and collaborators! It’s the result of my ongoing commitment, dedication and work, for more than 20 years! ”, he concluded.

It is important to highlight that the EurAI selected seven researchers across Europe in 2020, and that João Gama joins the five other Portuguese figures part of the list of EurAI Fellows.

This programme started in 1999, aiming to award members of the societies and organisations that play a part in the EurAI.

The INESC TEC researcher mentioned in this news piece is associated with UP-FEP.
