INESC TEC organises fourth edition of Text2Story
The fourth edition of Text2Story took place on April 1, together with the 43rd European Conference on Information Retrieval.
19th April 2021
The event took place online, due to the pandemic, and focused on the discussion of the most recent advances in terms of information retrieval (IR) and formal narrative representations from texts.
Alípio Jorge and Ricardo Campos, researchers from INESC TEC’s Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support Laboratory (LIAAD), were in charge of organising the event, together with Adam Jatowt (University of Innsbruck, Austria), Sumit Bhatia (IBM Research AI, India) and Mark Finlayson (Florida International University, U.S.A.). Other INESC TEC researchers, namely Alexandre Ribeiro, Álvaro Figueira, Arian Pasquali, Brenda Santana, Conceição Rocha, Evelin Amorim, João Paulo Cordeiro, Nuno Moniz and Sérgio Nunes, supported the workshop.
The programme of the event, with more than 120 participants, included several presentations and two keynote talks: the first by José Alves and Célia Rodrigues, infographic designers from the newspaper Público, and the second presented by Leila Zia (director and team coordinator of the Wikimedia Foundation, the foundation behind Wikipedia).
The Text2Story presentations are available online, on the event’s official YouTube channel.
