This way, the IND4FIBRE project was launched in October within the scope of the Factories of the Future initiative, being funded by the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI) and the Special Secretariat for Foreign Trade and International Affairs (SECINT).

With the leadership of INESC P&D Brasil, in consortium with the companies FLEXSIM and RYD Engenharia, the goal of the project is the extension of the FIBRE testbed of the National Network on Research (RNP) for the integration of sensors and actuators common to industry 4.0, in applications of collaborative robotics and additive manufacturing, which will be implemented in the so-called experimental islands, in partners of INESC Brasil’s Network.

The consortium of the project also includes the following institutions: Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), Federal University of Goiás (UFG). It should be noted that training sessions are planned for the use of the testbed developed with workers from business and industrial associations of the state of Goiás.
